Cast Iron Fire Starter Pot - Hiokoshi 8.8" dia

The Cast Iron Fire Starter Pot is designed to make lighting charcoal quick and easy, providing consistent and even heating. Ideal for BBQs, grilling, and other outdoor cooking needs, this fire starter pot is built from durable materials and designed for safe, effective use.

How to Use
Lighting Charcoal

To ensure optimal results, light the charcoal inside the pot over an open flame. Charcoal gives off gases when ignited, so avoid cooking at this stage to prevent acrid flavors from affecting your food. It's important to avoid overfilling the pot with charcoal as this may obstruct airflow and reduce performance. Once fully lit, transfer the charcoal to your grill or cooking surface, and remove the fire starter pot from direct heat to avoid damage to the handle.

Extinguishing Charcoal

To reuse charcoal, extinguish it in a fireproof container, cutting off the oxygen supply. Avoid dousing the coals with water as this can saturate the charcoal and require it to fully dry before reuse.

Assembly Instructions
  1. Insert the Handle: Align the wooden handle with the hole on the pot and gently tap it into place using a mallet. Ensure the handle is flat and fully inserted before proceeding.
  2. Pre-drill the Hole (if necessary): Use a drill to create a pilot hole in the wood to ensure a proper fit for the screw.
  3. Screw in the Fasteners: Once the handle is securely in place, use a screwdriver to tightly fasten the stainless steel screws into the handle. Do not overtighten, as this can strip the screws or damage the handle.
  4. Final Check: Make sure the handle is tightly secured to the pot and there is no looseness. If the handle is slightly loose, you can re-tap it into place with a hammer and re-tighten the screw.
Safety Notes
  • Ensure that the fire starter pot is placed securely and that the handle is positioned away from direct flames to prevent overheating or damage
  • Overheating can cause the handle to loosen or degrade over time. Inspect the handle and screws periodically.
  • The pot may emit odors or smoke during use, which is normal due to the materials used in construction.
  • After extinguishing the charcoal, allow the pot to cool completely before handling.
